Kicking Off Summer 2023!

We kicked off the summer season with the Island Thyme Summer Bash! This was The Wild Thyme Company's first time to open the space and showcase the kitchen and offices spaces. From specialty cocktails to delicious bites, we hoped to transport our guests on an island adventure.

In 2020, we moved into our current space that was over triple the size of our original space. This has given us even more capacity to take on bigger projects and productions for events. Our new facility includes our kitchen, pastry department, operations warehouse, tasting room, and sales office. Our outdoor space includes a courtyard area that is 7500 square feet. The overall layout supports our continued growth as a company.

We created an event that would bring our community together through what we do best- food. Combining the idea of a summer outdoor experience with an island theme allowed us to create a diverse menu with our own twist. As guests arrived, we presented them with a custom passport and map to help them navigate our facility with a variety of island inspired food stations, entertainment, and experiences.

Our menu featured cuisines inspired from islands all around the world: Jamaica, Cuba, Hawaii, and Sicily. Some foodie favorites from the menu included: Broke Da Mouth Garlic Fried Chicken, Ahi Poke Nachos, Freshly Made Arrabiata Pizza, Spiced Corn Riblets, Cubano Crostini, and Banana Pudding Shots.  In every bite, we wanted our guests to experience the flavors and creativity in our food. Our foodie team loves to implement innovative food ideas and creations into the menu- this was no exception. From the flavors to the presentation of the food, we wanted to give guests the ultimate foodie experience.

A brand new member of the team is Rosemary, our mobile bar in a converted vintage 1964 horse trailer. It only made sense to have her big debut at our event. Although we are mostly known for our catering services, we also have our own liquor license which allows us to provide our bar services at most events. Just as we are innovative in the kitchen, we are also as wildly creative when it comes to creating cocktails or mocktails. Throughout the event, guests were invited to sip on some of our specialty cocktails. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a refreshing Mojito from one of our custom beverage walls. Our guests raved over the delicious Mai Tais from the Tiki Bar in the Hawaii area. In Rosemary, our bartenders served up Italian Aperol Spritz. Creating specialty cocktails that celebrate the client’s uniqueness brings a fun way to implement the company’s identity into the event, leaving a very memorable impression on all attendees- some might say we definitely bring an elevated experience with our services and raise the bar with their expectations.

Our outdoor courtyard area was beautifully transformed into an island oasis with our partner, To Be Designed San Diego. They graciously offered to help bring what we envisioned to life. Their team elevated the space by creating a design with natural elements and textures throughout the space with curated decor pieces. TBD does a phenomenal job of not only designing event spaces, but really transforming any venue and event into unique experiential spaces. One of our favorite areas was the Dessert Oasis. By having the large wooden pergola-like structure with the natural woven drapery, it brought curiosity to guests and created a space to experience the Dessert Oasis within the overall event.

Island Thyme was just the tip of the iceberg for our foodie team. We love curating menus and food experiences that you can only find by working with us. Whether we’re hosting our own open house events or serving bites onboard the USS Midway Museum for a corporate client’s conference reception, we are the ultimate foodie catering company that is sure to wow all guests.

Producing events like the Island Thyme Summer Bash is our way to create the opportunity to bring everybody together to include our partners, vendors, clients, and of course, our family and friends. We wanted to show our community how wildly amazing our team works together and can put on events that bring innovation and creativity.
