Just in time for the first official full fall weekend, we present you with Chef Dawn's original Wild Thyme granola recipe! Perhaps you've had the pleasure of trying this tasty treat at one of the many breakfast meetings we've catered...or enjoyed a mini yogurt parfait at a brunch reception of ours. Whether you've tried this stuff or not, you are being urged to try making it at home! This homemade granola is the perfect way to start your day...and a great option for an afternoon snack as well! In a bowl, mix together...
(3 cups) rolled oats
(1 cup) sliced almonds
(1 cup) shredded sweetened coconut
(¼ cup) sesame seeds
In a small sauce pan, melt together...
(¼ cup) brown sugar
(¼ cup) maple syrup
(¼ cup) orange juice concentrate
(1 stick) butter
(¾ teaspoon) salt
(1 cup) raisins or your favorite dried fruit(s)!
Directions...Preheat oven to 250° F / Combine both mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans / Cook for 1 hour + 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve an even color / Remove from oven and transfer into a large bowl / Add dried fruits and mix evenly // Add to your favorite yogurt, milk or top on a frozen treat and enjoy!
